Amazons Come Alive: Literature Reimagined
Professor Persephone Braham's "From Amazons to Zombies" course at the University of Delaware uses BoodleBox's collaborative AI platform to transform how students engage with complex Spanish literature. Students create TV interviews with historical Amazon characters, moving beyond translation to character immersion and creative interpretation.
BoodleBox provides dedicated learning spaces where students access shared topic chats, learn from peers in real-time, and engage deeply with primary texts. Using multiple AI models, students develop character backgrounds, research historical contexts, and create scripts.
The approach yields impressive results: deeper text engagement, enhanced creativity, critical evaluation skills, and AI literacy development. Students learn to craft effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated content critically, and understand AI capabilities and limitations—essential skills for an increasingly AI-integrated workplace.
Through BoodleBox's shared learning spaces, students collaboratively explore primary texts while developing critical AI literacy skills.
Faculty Report Transformed Teaching Approaches
Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) successfully implemented AI across multiple departments, improving faculty productivity and student learning outcomes. The 20-week implementation revealed that structured access to BoodleBox substantially enhanced AI familiarity and confidence for both faculty and students.
Approximately 91% of faculty reported the platform helped their work moderately or significantly, with 87% noting they would recommend or highly recommend BoodleBox. UVG's approach focused on responsible AI use through three key areas: AI-powered learning innovation, responsible student-AI collaboration, and transparent assessment frameworks.
AI Contracts: The Secret to Zero Misuse
Pikes Peak State College is pioneering responsible AI adoption in higher education through its strategic pilot program with BoodleBox. By implementing AI contracts that establish clear ethical guidelines, the college is helping students develop critical AI literacy skills while maintaining academic integrity.
The results are impressive: 90% of students felt BoodleBox offered a more ethical approach to academic AI use, while 87% preferred it over alternative AI tools. Faculty report significant improvements in student work and zero issues with AI misuse.
This initiative is preparing students for success in an increasingly AI-enabled professional landscape.
Can Process Matter More Than Product?
Professor Jason Gulya of Berkeley College is reimagining literature assignments with his "Process-Folio" approach. Rather than traditional essays, students create self-designed projects based on literature they're genuinely curious about, while documenting their entire creative process.
Gulya’s framework encourages students to develop their own "Self-Empowering Writing Process" (SEWP), incorporating AI tools thoughtfully while maintaining their authentic voice.
By emphasizing the critical thinking process rather than just the final product, this approach offers a thoughtful response to AI's growing role in education. Students learn to articulate their thinking journey, developing crucial literacy skills that will serve them in an AI-integrated future. Visit the series here
What Happens When Students Create With Purpose?
When Professor Gibson introduced BoodleBox to her Communication Law class, Lorelai—an AI skeptic from an artistic family—discovered a powerful tool for positive change. What began as playful experimentation with a Kuzco-themed bot evolved into something transformative.
Lorelai's most impactful creation is Morgan, an AI companion designed for her friend Hannah, who lives with epilepsy and autism. Morgan explains social constructs through Hannah's special interests, recognizes seizure warning signs, provides step-by-step guidance during episodes, and offers biblical analogies to help Hannah understand complex concepts.
Behind the Curtain
Hi, I’m France, the Co-founder and CEO at BoodleBox. We’re on a mission to partner with faculty, staff, and students to build the best platform in the world for collaborative, responsible AI in the classroom and for classwork.
This newsletter exists to inform and connect those in higher education interested in helping faculty and students responsibly collaborate with GenAI. Come learn more about BoodleBox for Education, and if you’re already onboard, bring a colleague - we’d really appreciate it.
